Chattanooga zoo seemed small and not much like the Nashville zoo. I was afraid the kids would be disappointed until our first stop at the Chimp lookout where we all kissed the chimps and Waylon would have even gotten a hay snack had the glass not been between us and the primates! I have never ever seen chimps up close like this. It was awesome!! They knew we were there and even interacted with us! We had the same experience with a coyote! Yes!! One pawed the glass to get Waylon's attention as if he wanted to play with the cute little boy on the other side of the glass. What a nice surprise!

Chattanooga Zoo rocks!
Surprise stop in Chattanooga
So we thought we were headed back to Nashville until we had to stop off for gas in Chattanooga. Justin proved once and for all that he hadn't lost his spontaneous charm that I once loved so much! Off to Ruby Falls we go! Andie was excited to walk through the cave and Waylon enjoyed splashing around in the cave water. I knew they'd like it considering that Justin had gone caving with his friend David and had heard all about it! I didn't remember how neat the Falls were and how interesting it is that the cave people still haven't figured out where in the world it's coming from! Goodbye to Ruby Falls and hello Days Inn! After ordering our food from the hotel cafe, we realized that Waylon was not going to cooperate and sit quietly, but instead acted like the chimps we'd see at the Chattanooga zoo the next day. So, off we go to take our food to the room. After realizing the kids locked the bathroom door in the hotel room, off to another hotel room we go. No wait, Justin was off to get our food. That leaves me and the kids to move the luggage to another floor on the other side of the hotel! Believe it or not we did it! I made it very clear to the kids to stay close! Sweet little Waylon listened so well and stayed within a foot of me the whole move! Sweet Andie helped carry the bags. Safe and sound, Waylon crashed after supper!
Atlanta means kisses for Andie!
Off to Atlanta to visit our friends Hunter and Rob who have one boy and one girl around Andie and Waylon's ages. Andie began her ATL visit with a kiss for Beau even before the date! The guys took Andie and Beau to the Braves game! This was both kids' first game! She couldn't wait to tell me about "all the boys playing baseball!" She also couldn't wait to show me her "knocker." AKA, tomahawk. Waylon, Madi, Hunter, and I headed for the park for a mini night. We weren't sure the little ones could handle sitting still for the game! The trip was fantastic! Especially the Starbucks Hunter and I splurged for, TWICE!
Lots of new moments to share!
Okay, so give me a break since I'm a new blogger! It's been 14 days since I blogged. However, we have been out of town and I did leave my card reader at home. So, enough with the excuses. I'm now taking ownership of my blogging efforts. So off to Georgia... almost! We headed the opposite way to Nashville to congratulate Brett on his number one hit by Rodney Atkins, "It's America." Andie and Waylon met Rodney Atkins!
Now off to Georgia. First though, a stop at Stucky's to pick up the key to a quiet Way Way, a huge swirly sucker! The last trip home to Georgia was in November. Since school's out, we packed up the house and headed to Forsyth where we stayed with Justin's parents. Our days were filled with friends, family, and food! We began our first day at home with a tour of the square for Andie. She loved it but only wanted to go back to Grandmother's. The kids loved swimming in Grandmother's pool. Waylon used Andie's arm floaties and Andie used Waylon's yellow swim ring. We had Mexican with Aunt Tab, played with her horses, went to Mexican with Angela, Brandon, the boys, and the Grandparents and swam some more! We went to Juliette and had lunch with my mom at the RiverBend Cafe. We all smelled like grease until we bathed but what's a meal in Georgia if it's not greasy right? The best thing is that I got my accent back after only a few days back in the south.
